Asensio breaks silence on Liverpool move

Real Madrid forward, Marco Asensio, has refused to rule out a big-money move to Liverpool, after the 2018 World Cup ends.

Reports in Spain claim both clubs have opened negotiations for the 22-year-old, who is looking for more playing time.

A fee of £158million has reportedly been put on Asensio, who also has a €700m (£616m) release clause in a contract that runs until 2023.

Asensio is currently at the World Cup in Russia, where Spain play the hosts in a last-16 tie on Sunday.

And asked about Kop’s interest, Asensio fuelled the possibility of a move to the Premier League by saying: “Liverpool? When the World Cup is over, we’ll talk about that sort of thing, now I’m focused on selection for Spain.”
