Gulak
Political Adviser to the President, Ahmed Gulak, has said that as long as heavyweights in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, were alive, the party will continue to retain its power and dominance.
He made this assertion when President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday hosted members of the People’s Democratic Party to a dinner on Thursday in commemoration of Democracy Day.
The event that was attended by leadership of the party, state governors, members of the National Assembly, and other prominent chieftains, was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.
While speaking, Gulak expressed the party’s desire to reclaim the states it lost to opposition parties through the courts.
He went on to promise the president that as long as those in attendance were alive, “we will not let governance slip out of our hands in our life time. The foot soldiers are ready to work for you”.
He stressed tha despite criticisms, “Nigerians are satisfied with his performance and the allegations by the opposition should be ignored. The PDP is the only party that has leadership across the country, this is the first time that a president would be presenting a mid-term report in this country”.
Gulak said the “foot soldiers” of the president have refused to fight back the criticism against the Jonathan administration because “the president has restrained them from fighting back, saying that president Jonathan has the “largest heart” as a political leader.
