The family house of the member representing Khana constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Friday Nke-ee has been attacked by suspected arsonists.
The property which is located at Okwale community in Khana LGA was said to have been attacked by a group of young boys who set the place on fire, destroying properties and personal belongings.
Friday Nke-ee, while reacting to the attack, condemned it in totality.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Nke-ee said the attack on his property was carried out by known individuals from communities in Khana Local government area.
He decried the increasing rate of violence in the area, adding that more than fifteen houses have been touched with lives lost almost everyday.
He called on the Police to deploy a unit of mobile police officers to the community just as he appealed to the people of Khana not to resort to any form of reprisal attack.
“I heard that there were plans to attack my house and I wondered why anyone will want to attack me. What have I done wrong.
“But I am surprised they carried out the attack. The attack was on my family house. All my property was destroyed. That was a house I recently renovated.
“I have informed the police and I have asked them to deploy mobile police units to the community. We know those behind the attack and I believe the police will do their job well and fish them out,” Nke-ee said.
Recall that this is the second time the property of Friday Nke-ee will be attacked by arsonists.
