Arsenal kicked off pre-season preparations, with a 7-0 hammering of a selected Indonesian side today.
Theo Walcott opened scoring in the 15th minute, after fine work from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The first half ended with only goal, but the floodgates were opened in the second half.
Wenger made five changes after the break and seven minutes after, Chuba Akpom doubled the Gunners’ lead. Olivier Giroud also stepped up from the bench, to grab a fine brace in the space of three minutes, combining well with Bacary Sagna on both occasions.
Tomas Rosicky, also a second half substitute, was dictating play supremely for Arsene Wenger’s men and he was provider, as Lukas Podolski drilled in the fifth goal. Rosicky was also involved as Olsson tapped in, before Giroud set up Thomas Eisfeld to smash in the last goal.
Arsenal’s next game is in Vietnam on Wednesday.
