Alex Iwobi scored the decisive penalty, as Arsenal beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties, in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday night in Dublin.
The Blues had taken an early lead in the game, with Antonio Rudiger powering in a header from Cesc Fabregas’ corner kick in the 5th minute.
Chelsea should have been at least three goals up at the break, but Alvaro Morata missed a penalty and squandered other chances.
The Gunners came out roaring for the second half and missed several opportunites to level the game, until Alexandre Lacazette bundled in with the last kick of the encounter.
The match went straight to penalty kicks. And with all first 10 efforts converted, Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s was saved by Petr Cech, before Iwobi sealed victory for Arsenal.
