Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte says Alvaro Morata must “work harder”.
A visibly dispirited Conte said this after his team’s 2-2 draw at the Emirates, home of rivals Arsenal.
The Italian admitted that Morata was in a position to give Chelsea all three points.
Morata blew three one-on-one chances. He hit the ball off target twice, while his close range effort in the dying minutes was blocked by Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech.
Reacting, Conte said his striker has to improve in front of goal.
“He must work harder; the result is not what we expected but we have to look forward.
“But I must praise him for his efforts. He is a player that puts in his best and want to see the team win.
“We must be disappointed. We had many chances to win but didn’t convert them.
Asked why he hit the ground during the second half, Conte said he felt bad because the team lost a clear opportunity to score.
“That is how you well when you see a goal lost. It is disappointing.”
