Arsenal vs Benfica: Wenger speaks on Alexis Sanchez’s sickness, Lemar’s transfer

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has brushed off talk that Alexis Sanchez’s sickness is a ploy to get a move away from the Emirates.
Speaking after watching his side beat Benfica 5-2 in the Emirates Cup on Saturday, Wenger said: “Alexis has flu. I had a text yesterday. He will come back as soon as possible.”
Wenger also added that Alexis was now due to come back on Tuesday.
“There is no development – he is staying, of course.
“Your job is to be suspicious and my job is based on trust”.
The Gunners boss also gave an update on his chase of Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
When asked if his interest in Lemar is now over, he replied: “We don’t speak about how negotiations go.”
