Arsenal to tempt Liverpool with £35m offer for Suarez, as Higuain move stalls

Arsene Wenger is prepared to return to Liverpool with an improved £35million offer for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international, is now seen to be the Arsenal manager’s first choice, ahead of Gonzalo Higuain. The Gunners have already had a £30million bid thrown out, but remain keen to land the striker.

In a recent interview, Suarez reiterated his desire to quit Anfield for Champions League football.

He said: “If I receive an important offer to progress my career, I will study it. ‘Some clubs have asked about me but I hand questions over to my agent. I am no stranger to rumours.

“I always want to improve. That’s why I left Ajax for Liverpool. But this club needs to fight to enter the Champions League and, when it doesn’t happen, it damages the morale of any player. So I’ve suffered.

“It is hard to view the Premier League every week with never a chance of winning it.”

However, Higuain might yet arrive, as a deal has been agreed in principle for the Real Madrid man, pending a final agreement with the La Liga club.
