Arsenal to make announcement on Wenger’s future

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has said that any announcement on his future, will be made by the Premier League club.

Wenger’s current contract expires at the end of this season and it is believed there is a two-year deal on the table for him to sign.

The 67-year-old however revealed at his press conference on Friday, that any confirmation on whether he stays or not, will not make made by him.

He also confirmed that he was making plans for next season.

“Of course (I am making plans for pre season). It’s just that I do my job. That’s to plan for the future of the club.

“I cannot tell you now when the announcement will come because I don’t know. I’m focused on our next game,” Wenger said.

Wenger is reportedly locked in a power struggle with the club’s chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, over the changes that should take place this summer.

There are concerns about his willingness to embrace change. The club’s hierarchy want to see the 67-year-old shake up his coaching staff and bring in a director of football. The shake up will also extend to medical, science and academy fronts and redevelopment at the training ground.
