Arsenal submit new £25.3m bid for Higuain

Spanish media outlet, AS, last night reported that Arsenal have tabled a £25.3million (€30million) bid for Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain and hope to complete the deal by Friday.

Just yesterday afternoon, Florentino Perez denied that there has been any official bid from the Gunners, despite stories claiming that both clubs had agreed a £25.3million deal for the Argentine.

The Real Madrid president told Univision that they wanted to keep the frontman, saying: “We don’t want him to leave. And besides, nobody from Arsenal has come here to present an offer for him. Not 27 million or anything. There is no offer.”

However, it is believed that Perez was trying to squeeze out more money from Arsene Wenger and if the reports of a new bid are true, then the protracted transfer saga might be closed this week.
