Arsenal are prepared to announce Alexandre Lacazette’s transfer.
French outfit, L’Equipe, reports that everything has been agreed between the Gunners, Lacazette and Lyon, with an official confirmation the only thing left.
The fee is expected to amount to £44 million, with a further £8.5m in potential add-ons – taking it close to the £55m figure Lyon chairman, Jean Michel Aulas had been holding out for.
It makes Lacazette the most expensive Arsenal player ever, overtaking the £42.5million Arsene Wenger shelled out for Mesut Ozil in 2013.
The 26-year-old will sign a five-year contract at the Emirates, becoming Wenger’s second signing of the summer following the capture of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer.
