Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey says the players have let Manager, Arsene Wenger down several times this season, insisting that the criticism directed at the Frenchman is unfair.

Following Arsenal’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Chelsea and Bayern Munich in February which ended the Gunners’s hopes of winning the Premier League or the Champions League, Wenger has come under increasing pressure.

Ramsey told talkSports, “He’s been a great servant to Arsenal. He’s been a great manager to me personally and for the players.

“We have let him down at times. I think it’s unfair, some of the things that have been said. People are entitled to their opinion, but he’s been great for me personally.”

The Wales international has struggled this season because of injuries, but could return from a calf problem in Saturday’s clash against Liverpool.

Arsenal are 13 points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand, but Ramsey still believes the title race is not over yet.

He added, “There’s still a lot of football to be played. Stranger things have happened in football before.

“Chelsea have quite a gap at the moment. But it only takes a couple of games and everyone is right back in it again. We have to get back to winning ways, compete again and go on a bit of a run.”
