Former Arsenal star, Paul Merson has revealed Chelsea’s Europa, Premier League targets under their new manager, Maurizio Sarri this season.
Sarri took over the Stamford Bridge club from fellow Italian, Antonio Conte in the summer after the West London club finished in fifth position in the Premier League table last term.
Merson has now revealed that the Blues’ targets under Sarri this campaign, is to finish in top four on the Premier League table and also win the Europa League trophy.
Speaking on Chelsea’s targets this season, Merson told Sky Sports: “The top four and the Europa League.
“Looking at the team of the first game in Europa League, Sarri will give it a right go.”
He added, “He hasn’t won anything yet.”
Chelsea had won their opening five Premier League games this season to make a promising start to life under Sarri.
Sarri’s men dropped their first points in the season following a 0-0 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend.
They will take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
