Arsenal Ladies release statement on Oshoala’s departure to China

English Women Super League outfit, Arsenal Ladies, have confirmed that Asisat Oshoala, has left the club for Chinese team, Dalian Quanjian .

The English club thanked the Super Falcons striker for her contributions during her time with the club.

“We would like to thank Asisat for her contribution to Arsenal Ladies during the 2016 season and wish her well in her upcoming move, which is subject to the completion of the player registration process,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

Oshoala made 11 appearances for the Arsenal Ladies and won the Women’s FA Cup in 2016.

This week, chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, MFM FC, Godwin Enakhena, confirmed that the reigning African Women Footballer of the Year, will earn seven times what the Gunners were paying her.

He wrote on Twitter: “Oshoala to earn N7m monthly 1year deal at Chinese side, Dalian Quanjian, almost 7 times more than what she was earning at Arsenal.”
