Arsenal give Wenger green light to make £40m bid for Suarez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has been given the go-ahead to make a decisive £40million offer for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international has become the Gunners’ number one priority this summer and an initial bid of about £30million has been rejected already.

The Anfield club have already made it clear that the striker is not for sale, but it is believed that the 26-year-old has a clause that allows him to speak to another club, if a bid of around £40million comes in.

Wenger is ready to smash the club’s record fee, after moving on from Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, because the La Liga club keep raising his price tag. The club’s other target, Wayne Rooney, looks closer to Chelsea and Wenger is ready to act in the next 48 hours, to avoid losing out on all three frontmen.
