Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, has joked that Arsenal fans would not be too eager for him to succeed Arsene Wenger, after the Gunners beat his team 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The German tactician has been linked with the Emirates job in the past weeks, as Wenger’s men continued to struggled, following their worst start to a season in 32 years.
Klopp had admitted before the game, that he was keen on a move to the Premier League, but now believes his ratings have fallen in North London.
“I don’t think, after seeing how my team performed at the Emirates Stadium, the Arsenal fans want me on the bench,” Klopp is quoted as saying by Mediaset Premium .
“Arsenal have one of the best coaches in the world and I’m also at one of the best clubs in the world. I’m thankful for all the praise, but my future is Dortmund.”
Klopp was appointed at Dortmund in 2008 and has led the team to winning two Bundesliga titles, the DFB Pokal and DFL Supercup. He also reached the Champions League final in 2013.
