Arsenal doctors have visited Alexis Sanchez and confirmed that he has flu, easing the fears of fans who saw the Chilean’s Instagram post as a ruse.
Sanchez posted a picture on social media looking miserable along his dog with the caption “Sick”.
The 28-year-old who is on an extended break following his participation in this year’s Confederations Cup, wants to quit the Emirates for Champions League football.
Although Arsene Wenger will let the player return to training late, he once again insisted that he will not be leaving this summer.
“He has flu. I had him on text yesterday (Friday), he will come back as soon as possible. We were in touch with him and his doctor.
“No basic problem except he should come back tomorrow (Sunday) but now he comes back Tuesday,” Wenger said on Saturday after a 5-2 win over Benfica in the Emirates Cup.
