Arsenal on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a club-record fee of £56 million.
The Gabonese international signed a three-and-a-half-year deal that runs until 2021 and makes him the highest-paid player at the north London club on a massive £180,000-a-week.
A statement from Arsenal confirmed thus: “The 28-year-old has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee.
“This deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes and Auba’s squad number will be confirmed shortly.”
Dortmund sporting director, Michael Zorc also said: “Apart from the unpleasant events of recent weeks, we remember the story of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a success story.
“He has done great things for Borussia Dortmund, scored many important goals and was part of the team that brought the DFB-Pokal Cup to Dortmund in 2017.
“We wish Pierre-Emerick all the best for his future at Arsenal.”
Aubameyang has scored 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga appearances while at Dortmund after being signed by Mislintat from Saint-Etienne four-and-a-half years ago.
The 28-year-old won the Bundesliga golden boot last season.
