Arsenal being forced to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain before transfer window closes

Arsenal are ready to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the end of the summer transfer window closes.

Boss Arsene Wenger has made a final new-contract offer to the England winger worth £180,000 a week, but Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to turn it down.

It could lead to the Gunners getting as much money as they can for the 24-year-old, rather than let allow him leave as a free agent next summer.

Premier League champions Chelsea and Liverpool are leading the race to sign. They are ready to make a £35million offer to try to get him, before the window shuts at 11pm next Thursday.

The Gunners face the Reds at Anfield on Sunday and it remains to be seen whether Wenger will pick him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was signed from Southampton for £15m in 2011.
