Arsenal have activated Jamie Vardy’s release clause, which is believed to be set at £20million.
The Leicester City striker scored 24 goals, as they won their first Premier League title last season and Arsene Wenger is keen to lure him to the Emirates, especially with Danny Welbeck out for nine months with injury.
Vardy will become Wenger’s signing of this summer if he arrives. The Gunners have already snapped up Granit Xhaka from Borussia Mochengladbach.
Arsenal will be looking to wrap up a transfer for Vardy, before the European Championship kicks off next week.
