Nigerian troops on Wednesday repelled an evening attack on Buratai, hometown of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.

Some of the terrorists, who came in over ten vehicles, were killed.

The militants launched the attack at about 6pm, in a battle which lasted over two hours, Daily Trust reports.

“Many of the insurgents were killed. We saw them taking their dead members and injured ones into their vans,” a source told the newspaper.

“But at the end of the day, they were unable to take the bodies of three of their members who were killed,” the source said.

It was gathered that there was no casualty on the side of the military.

One of the pick-ups used by the terrorists was destroyed by the military, while two AK 47 rifles were recovered from them.
