Men of the Nigeria Army, 32 Artillery Brigade of the Owena Cantonment, Akure, Ondo State, have apprehended a suspected member of a kidnap syndicate in the state.
The suspect, identified as Victor John, was caught with military camouflage which he was said to be using to terrorise and as well kidnap residents of the state for ransom.
A military source, who confirmed the notorious kidnapper’s arrest, explained that the suspect was apprehended at Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state during a-stop-search operation.
“Our men from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the military has recorded another feat after apprehending one suspect of a kidnapping group.
“They arrested the suspect inside a vehicle during our stop and search operation which was carried out by our gallant officers along the road in Ore town.
“After his arrest, he confessed to being a member of a kidnapping syndicate that had been terrorising the people of Ondo state,” the source disclosed.
Items also found in possession of the suspect included a military identity card and one locally-made gun.
He added that the suspect has undergone some interrogation and would be handed over to the police for prosecution in accordance with the law.
