The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has announced the arrested of some suspected members of the resurgent militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers.
The resurgent group had claimed responsibility for several bomb attacks on pipeline installations in the Niger Delta region.
Spokesperson of the Army, Brig-Gen Rabe Abubakar yesterday confirmed reports that some members of the group have been arrested.
Abubakar said, “This is to confirm the arrest of some suspected members of Niger Delta Avengers. Investigation is currently on going.
“Military will continue to do its best to guard strategic facilities and provide security to lives and property”.
“We urge community and traditional rulers and patriotic citizens to cooperate with us in our efforts to get rid of criminals in our great country.”
