Army Chief, Buratai to celebrate Sallah with troops in Damaturu

Acting Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Tukur Buratai disclosed yesterday that he would be celebrating Sallah with troops in the frontline of the war against Boko Haram insurgents in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Buratai stated this while speaking with newsmen on Thursday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to get briefing on his new assignment as the nation’s army chief.

Buratai refused to speak on his new assignment to journalists after the meeting with the president, saying it was just some few hours into the job.

“I am just a few hours on the seat. We will be talking later. But I will be going to Damaturu tomorrow to visit the troops. I want to go and celebrate Sallah with them”, he said.
