One of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, chiefs said to have been involved in the $2.1 billion arms deal has allegedly returned to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ,EFCC N66 million out of the N90 million traced to him,

Speaking with Vanguard, an EFCC source said though the officer returned some money that does not mean that he has been left off the hook.

It was learnt that the officer, a Principal Staff Officer at NAF Headquarters, was released from detention and orders to go look for the balance of the money.

It will be recalled that some officers of NAF were placed under house arrest over their alleged involvement in the arms deal scandal.

The report stated that other officers who are still being detained by the NAF High Command on behalf of the EFCC, were not allowed the privileged because they had refused to cooperate fully with the EFCC interrogation team even though some had returned exotic cars and other valuables.
