The spokesman, Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Zubairu, weekend confirmed the murder of a 22-year-old man, Aliyu Yusuf, by armed gangsters, who stabbed him to death using dagger.
Zubairu said the Malali area of Kaduna town is under siege, where unidentified men armed with daggers, lay ambush for their victims and stab them to death.
In his confirmation, the spokesman went further to say that last week, a carpenter, simply known as Sunday, was stabbed with dagger in the stomach by some hoodlums and thereafter, died of the injury.
At Angur Maisamari, still part of Malali, one Abdullahi was also stabbed, but survived.
Following the death of the 22-year-old victim, his mother, Hajiya Maryam Aliyu, in Shagari Close, Badarawa area, said, “I was at home when somebody came to our gate and one of my sons went out to see who it was, only for the visitor, possibly a driver too, to hand over to him the corpse of his younger brother, saying he only assisted because he knew my son.
“In the ensuing confusion, the man who brought his body immediately ran away.
“My son, who was stabbed on the neck and abdomen, was a driver and a nice boy,” Maryam told Vanguard.
Meanwhile, reports have it that there are usually, on the average, five cases of hoodlums stabbing themselves or descending on a target with daggers, but most of the cases are never reported to the police by victims due to fear of the thugs.
