Armed Aladja youths allegedly abduct, kill two Egbema indigenes in Delta

Armed Aladja Youths in the early hours of Wednesday allegedly abducted and killed two Egbema youths identified as Solomon Ikoto and Samuel Agolo.

They were killed along Aladja Community river, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Chairman, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, in Ogbe-Ijoh Community, Engr. Smart Okosu disclosed this to DAILY POST in a chat on Thursday.

Okosu disclosed that the two Egbema youths resident at Gbaramatu Kingdom were returning from a business trip when the armed Aladja youths stopped and commandeered them to unknown destination.

“Two young men, indigene of Egbema Ondo State who are residing at Gbaramatu, namely, Solomon Ikoto and Samuel Agolo were killed in Ovwian/Aladja river by Aladja people late yesterday while returning from their normal business.

“When we noticed we could not see them for about two hours, we started looking for them until somebody told us Aladja youths have abducted them”, he said

In a swift response, Aladja Community denied the allegation saying, “we did not abduct or kill anybody.”

Speaking on behalf of the Community, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi claimed that two Aladja Indigenes, Moses Kporoko and one Saha were allegedly abducted and killed by armed Ogbe-Ijoh youths led by Ezikoro on Tuesday.

Bezi also stated that the Ogbe-Ijoh people were raising the alarm for the fear that Aladja people might attack to avenge the death of their people stressing, “we can’t do that because we are peace loving people.”

Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka did not pick calls put accross to his mobile phone.
