Arase vows to deal decisively with corrupt police officers

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase has read a fresh riot act to officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force involved in any form of corruption, warning that the force will not hesitate to deal decisively with any of them caught in the act.

Arase issued this warning on Saturday while interacting with officers and men of the force in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.

Arase, who was represented by the Deputy Inspector of Police, DIG, Logistics and Supplies, Mamman Tsafe, added that there was no room for bad eggs in the police as necessary mechanisms to flush out such corrupt personnel had since been put into motion.

He further harped on the need for members of the force to improve on the existing synergy with other sister security agencies, saying the move was necessary, particularly, now when the nation was bedevilled with security challenges.

Also speaking, the commissioner of police in Jigawa State, Usman Abubakar Tilli decried the shortage of manpower and equipment in his Command and called on the Inspector-General of Police to come to their assistance.
