The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, a Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, and Yoruba apex social-political organization, Afenifere, have knocked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing dead people to head agencies in the country.
A total of six people have been confirmed dead in a list announced by the Federal Government on Friday as heads of agencies.
DAILY POST earlier reported that three persons in the list were long dead and buried.
While Sani, tweeted his reaction on Saturday, Mohammed and the spokesperson of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin spoke in different interviews with Punch on the matter.
Sani said the President “should have posthumously honoured those who were deceased on the list instead of giving them appointments after their death.”
Mohammed on his part said, “The list confirms a trend that has been the hallmark of this government since it took power in 2015.
“It shows how unprepared the President and the cabal in the Presidency are for the serious work of governance.”
Afenifere, criticised and described the blunder as an untidy approach to governance.
Odumakin pointed out that some officials should be sanctioned for the embarrassment.
He added, “To have one dead person on the appointment list is scandalous, but to have many shows lack of thoroughness, no attention to detail.
“And, if this is the way our lives are being run, it is very shameful that the government at the highest level cannot sort the living from the dead.”
