The Rivers State Government has stated that the confirmation of the Chief Judge of the State, Honourable Justice Adama Iyayi-Lamikanra by the Rivers State House of Assembly as the substantive Chief Judge of the State and her swearing-in by the Governor was in line with the standard of merit, due process and the adherence to the rule of law.

Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Austin Tam-George stated this in Port Harcourt while speaking with newsmen.

Tam-George declared that “the gesture demonstrates Governor Wike’s commitment to recognize and support excellence, no matter the State of origin of any individual in Rivers State.”

The Commissioner urged all Rivers people, including non-indigenes resident in the State to give full support to the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike to bring about socio-economic, growth and stability.
