A former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has alerted Christians nationwide of the danger of preaching in hostile areas.
Commiserating with the family of female evangelist, Mrs Eunice Elisha, who was murdered in Bazango, Kubwa area of the FCT last Saturday, Okogie warned all Christians to apply wisdom whenever they have reasons to preach the gospel in hospitable environments.
Okogie said he would not assume that the killing was carried out by Muslims, urging the Federal Government to provide adequate security for every Nigerian citizen irrespective of religion and ethnicity.
Okogie appealed to Christians to refrain from any act of vengeance.
“God says vengeance belongs to Him and no man should assist God to fight His battle,” he said.
