Appeal court sacks APC Rivers Assembly member

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has sacked a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Opobo/Nkoro Constituency, Mr. Andrew Miller.

Miller, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared winner of the March 19, 2016 re-run in the state.

However, the Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led panel, in a unanimous judgment, on Thursday nullified the Certificate of Return issued to Miller by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The panel ordered INEC to issue fresh one to the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the re-run, Mr. Diri Adonye.
