The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Alex Otti, has vowed that the party will contest the result of last Saturday’s National Assembly election in the state.
Otti assured the party’s teeming supporters that their votes for the party in the March 28 election must count in spite of the present challenges.
He gave the assurance at a reception organised in his honour by a committee of friends from Isi-Eketa in Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
Otti spoke against the backdrop of the alleged manipulation of the results of the National Assembly election in the state in favour of the ruling-Peoples Democratic Party.
He urged the people not to allow the development to dampen their zeal to come out en masse for the April 11 governorship and state assembly polls, assuring them that adequate security would be provided.
Otti promised that he would make life more meaningful for the people by transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state, if elected.
The APGA governorship hopeful also promised to build a higher institution in the area, adding that education would receive priority attention during his administration.
He promised to introduce free and compulsory education and assured teachers and pensioners of prompt payment of their salaries and pensions.
The former Diamond Bank chief executive also pledged that his administration would provide grants to women to start petty businesses while fertilizers would be provided for farmers.
According to him, the state would be made competitive for local and foreign investors to come in and industries would spring up to provide jobs for the youths.
‘’Having worked in the banking sector for the past 25 years, I know where the whole money in the world is and I will bring it to develop the state,’’ he said.
Earlier in their separate speeches, the spokesmen of the organizers, Prof. Franic Ochor and Chief Vine Nwogwugwu, hailed Otti for leaving his comfort zone to a state of uncertainty out of his passion to serve his people.
They described him as an honest, transparent, forthright, dependable, highly cerebral and visionary administrator par excellence.
The duo assured him that the community would vote massively for him in the election.
