APGA under Victor Oye is fraudulent – Party chieftain alleges

Ferdinand Ekeoma, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Chief Press secretary to Dr. Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the party in the last election, has backed the decision of notable leaders of APGA to overhaul the leadership of the party at all levels.

DAILY POST recalls that the Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), is currently enmeshed in factional crisis over who to control the soul of the party in the state.

The fight is between Augustine Ehiemere-led faction of APGA and Hon. Nkem Okoro-led State Working Committee(SWC) of the party in Abia.

Addressing newsmen in a press conference, in Aba, on Tuesday, Ekeoma opined that overhauling the party would pave way for it to reclaim its pride of place as a progressive party driven by people-oriented ideologies.

He insisted that the party(APGA) was determined and repositioned to tackle any challenges ahead, claiming that the Oye-led National Working Committee(NWC) has allegedly destroyed the reputation of APGA by perpetuating money induced fraudulent practices during and after 2019 general election.

Ekeoma lauded the determination of most of the party leaders, who he said, had come together to reclaim APGA from those they described as dangerous political undertakers.

The statement reads partly, “The expiration of the tenure and exit of the Victor Oye led national leadership, concerned leaders of the party are poised to heralding a new order that shall ensure sanity and constitutionalism in the conduct of the party’s activities. The inglorious conducts of the Victor Oye led NWC during the last primaries that almost turned the party to an ATM Machine against innocent party members whose crime was their decision to run election under the platform of the party.

“We commend Dr. Alex Otti’s resilience and doggedness in his quest to end the leadership mess ravaging Abia state. I encourage him not to relent since millions of suffering Abians are still yearning for the elusive good governance and still standing solidly behind him having seen the sincerity of his people sacrifices for the good of Abia state”.
