The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Umuahia south local government area of Abia state on Sunday said it has uncovered a plan by some group of persons to make a media show on Monday as APGA members, decamping to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
APGA stated this in a statement issued by the chairman of the party in Umuahia south local government area, Mr. Omerenma Ogbonna and made available to newsmen on Sunday evening.
The statement quoted the party as saying that the move is a cooked up plan to dissuade and discourage its teeming members and supporters in Umuahia south local government who are craving for change.
The statement advised all APGA faithful not to be discouraged by the people it described as paid agents who subjected Abians to untold hardship.
Parts of the statement reads, “It has been known that some group of persons who have not been in APGA nor aligned themselves with APGA in Umuahia south chapter before, are planning to make the media glow tomorrow, Monday, May 14, 2018 as APGA members decamping to PDP in Ubakala Umuahia south local government during the visit of the State PDP Chairman to Umuahia south.
“All APGA faithfuls should not be discouraged by these paid agents who will parade themselves as APGA members decamping to PDP on Monday at Apumiri Ubakala.
“It is a cooked up plan to dissuade and discourage our teeming APGA members and supporters in Umuahia south local government who are craving for change.
“It is now an undisputable truism that Umuahia south is now the base of concentration because of the blunt refusal of the APGA leader in Umuahia south to join the ruling party in the state after all undue persuasions from many angles.
“It is obvious that more like this in forms of vendetta, calumnies, blasphemies, innuendos and many types of confrontational mechanisms should be expected by the ruling party in Umuahia south before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
“There is hunger in the land caused by the same people who have resorted to gimmicks and games just to tarnish the ideology of APGA and discourage members.”
