APGA Guber candidate, Sani Abdulahi calls for cancellation of Zamfara governorship elections

Dr. Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi, the governorship candidate the of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara State has called on the election petition tribunal to cancel the recent elections in Zamfara State for lack of credibility.

Responding to DAILY POST questions about why he went to the election petition tribunal, the governorship candidate said he believed that he has not lost the elections in the state.

Shinkafi explained that the elections were full of irregularities that call for proper scrutiny by both the Independent Electoral Commission and the courts of competent jurisdiction about its outcome.

“Even before the elections, I have been lamenting that the way and manner the APC was handling the whole Electoral affairs in the state was very questionable but nobody, not even the security operatives could reason with me” he stressed.

He noted that the governor went contrary to the civil service rules by engaging the civil servants in politics, threatening to sack any civil servant that did not vote for him and his candidates in the state.

He noted that the whole system was very faulty, saying that it was very unbelievable to note that only APC could win the whole seats in the state even when he said the citizens of the state were very tired of the corrupt system in Abdulaziz Yari’s government.

Shinkafi explained that for the democratic processes to go on smoothly, something must be done urgently to redeem the image of the state in this democratic process.

According to him, the INEC is never an independent electoral body, saying that what Nigerians have been hearing were excuses upon excuses in all the elections in the whole country.

In another development, the PDP in the state has been busy pasting the posters and emblems of Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle believing that the supreme court would turn the table against APC in the state.

The judgment of the Appeal Court in Sokoto gave the supporters of the PDP the confidence that PDP would form the next government in the state after the judgment of the supreme court.

“Governor Abdulaziz Yari knows very well in his heart that what is taking place in the state is not democracy but tyrannic hold on power and the resources of the state,” he lamented.
