Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has described the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses across the country as a sign of system failure within the ruling party.
Onuesoke stressed that the way the congresses went suggest a prelude to the collapse of APC in 2019.
He made this known to newsmen in Osun State while reacting to the conduct and outcome of the APC ward congresses held across the country over the weekend after the PDP South West mega rally in Osogbo.
The PDP chieftain said, “The violence, killings and brutality that characterized the conduct and the outcome of the ward congress of the ruling All progressives congress is a sign of system failure within the structure of the party and the country if Nigerians allow APC to come back in 2019.
“This is just a prelude to the monumental collapse that will befall the APC if they go ahead with their planed national convention.
“No doubt, the outcome of the APC ward congresses across the country is a manifestation of the level of division, injustice and lack of internal democracy which has been the hallmark of the ruling party since it conception till date and this goes to show that all is not well with the ruling party, which is a further prove that APC as a party can no longer be trusted by Nigerians for another four years, How can we trust a party that is divided against itself.”
The former governorship aspirant further called on Nigerians to return the PDP back to power come 2019, claiming that the party remains the best model for true democratic practice.
