A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ayodele Kusamotu, has flayed the leadership of his party for its nonchalant attitude towards restructuring.
According to him, Nigeria’s restructuring was the wish of the people but the party’s hierarchy was taking the issue for granted.
In a statement he signed and issued in Lagos, Kusamotu urged the APC to become serious about restructuring the country, adding that it was an issue that many members of the party had always called for.
Kusamotu further appealed to the party to gauge the pulse of the people to avoid losing the goodwill and sympathy it enjoyed in the last general elections.
He said, “I am of the opinion that my party, the APC is not serious about the burning issue of restructuring. Unfortunately, it is on the lips of all and sundry.
“This fact alone should compel the party to treat the matter seriously and not with levity. They should go back to the drawing board and come out with a white paper that will assuage the minds of Nigerians especially now that 2019 is around the corner.
“The Nigerian voter is a sensitive one. He or she knows what he wants. They know that restructuring will improve their lots in life, hence I am strongly appealing to my party leadership not to take the people for granted or else, it will lose its goodwill and sympathy.”
