The All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday said it was yet to decide on the no-violence post-presidential election reactions proposed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs and elder statesman, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi.
Professor Akinyemi had in an open letter, urged both President Goodluck Jonathan, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC to sign an undertaking, promising a non-violent reaction to possible loss of the February 14, 2015 presidential election on both sides.
The eminent diplomat made the proposal in view of the violence that followed the 2011 elections, leading to about 1,000 deaths in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Reacting, APC national publicity secretary, Lai Mohammed told Tribune that it was premature to react.
He explained that though he had read the story, the content of the proposal was yet to be fully read and studied.
The spokesman further disclosed that he would also have to discuss with the APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, before a position could be taken.
