The Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki, has lambasted President Goodluck Jonathan’s led administration over its inability to bring back the school girls abducted by Boko Haram one year ago.
Saraki stated this in statement in Abuja yesterday to mark one year since the abduction of the school girls.
The senator said the girls would have been found if the Jonathan administration was determined.
Saraki commended the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, for his refusal to make naive promises on the Chibok girls.
He said: “We must remain hopeful of their return and steadfast in our determination to find them, but not make the same mistakes of the previous administration in promising what we cannot guarantee to do.”
On his part, Vice – Chairman, Senate Committee on Interior, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, blamed the “inconsistencies” of President Jonathan to free the girls after one whole year.
Adetunmbi, in a statement, affirmed that the Jonathan administration had disappointed the parents of the girls and the entire nation because it did not fulfil its promises to bring back the girls.
