The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Maimala Buni, has applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the noticeable improvements recorded in the use of Card Readers in the governorship and states assembly elections.
According to Buni, who spoke in Damaturu on Saturday, there was a significant improvement in the performance of the card reader machines in comparison to the flaws recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
“The problems associated with fingerprints were addressed and the process here has been smooth, transparent, hitch free and time saving,’’ he said.
The APC scribe also praised voters, especially Internally Displaced Persons, for their perseverance and faith in democracy, adding that stakeholders should also be commended for ensuring peaceful conduct of elections in the state.
“So far, the elections had been peaceful and every stakeholder deserves commendation for the peaceful exercise,’’ he said.
He said the APC was sure of victory in most of the states because of the people’s faith in the party and credibility of the president-elect.
“APC will win the election in Yobe and for the first time since 1999 the state will belong to a ruling party.
“There are opportunities for the state to benefit for being in the mainstream politics of the nation and to belong to the ruling party,’’ Buni said. .
