Kaduna State Governor, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has postponed the swearing in ceremony of newly appointed Sole Administrators of the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.
A statement by Yero’s media aide, Ahmed Maiyaki said the decision was made to avert clash with a campaign rally of the opposition party which is also billed to hold on the same day.
The statement said “Governor Yero as a peace loving Governor and a true democrat has decided to postpone the swearing in ceremony of Sole Administrators to the LGAs as a way of ensuring that all political parties are provided with level play field.”
The State Government had slated to conduct the swearing in ceremony Monday, January 19th the same day where the opposition party plans to hold its rally but in the spirit of sportsmanship, Governor Yero directed that the State event be shifted to Tuesday, January 20.
“Governor Yero wishes the opposition party well in its campaign in the state, while also calling on all PDP members to respect the rights of supporters of other political parties throughout the electioneering period,” concluded the statement.
