The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has called on all aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to focus on programmes that have direct impact on Nigerians.
Governor Amaechi made the call during a meeting with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and delegates of the APC from Rivers and Bayelsa States at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
According to Amaechi, “If APC does not win election some of you will not get employment. Atiku has a wonderful career. He was a good Vice President but I am not the party what we as a state will do is that, on that day we will match out and take a decision.”
On his part, former Vice President and Presidential aspirant under the APC, Atiku Abubakar, pleaded for the support of the delegates, adding that it is time for change which he is eminently ready for if given the mandate as the most democratically qualified of all the aspirants.
He said, “What is most important is for APC to win so that we can have the opportunity to bring about the change that we have continued to promise Nigerians.
“Having said this, I want to say that among all of us, I am better because I am the best to be Nigeria’s next president because I have the longest political career amongst them. Nobody have been able to gather enough political experience or years of political experience better or longer than me.
“We agreed among us that anybody who gets the ticket will enjoy the support if everyone of us and this is because we are determined to bring about the change every Nigerian desires.
