Mr Segun Oni, the Acting National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), says the party is `highly traumatised’ by the passing on of James Ocholi, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment.
Oni spoke on Wednesday when he led the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on a condolence visit to the residence of the late James Ocholi (SAN) in Abuja.
In a statement released to newsmen and signed by the APC Deputy Director Publicity, Mr Edegbe Odemwingie, Oni described Ocholi’s death as a “sad incidence’’.
The statement recalled that the late minister who served the party as its interim Deputy National Legal Adviser, was passionate about any and every assignment given to him without any expectations whatsoever.
“We are highly traumatised by the incidence because he was a man that was readily available without ego and passionate about his work.
“We have lost a gem that qualifies and exemplifies a true Nigerian worthy to emulate,’’ the statement quoted Oni as saying.
It said the deceased’s younger brother, Okpanachi Ocholi, thanked the NWC for the visit, adding that the minister’s death “was like a dream”.
Some of the NWC members on the visit were Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, National Secretary; Hajiya Ramatu Aliyu, National Women Leader and Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, Deputy National Chairman (North).
Others were Dasuki Jalo, National Youth leader, Sen. Osita Izunaso, National Organising Secretary, amongst others.
Ocholi died on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway alongside his wife and second son on March 6, in what is now believed to be an accident caused by a burst tyre. (NAN)
