APC National Convention: What Oyegun’s withdraw has done to party – Abia Guber aspirant,

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Ambassador Chidike, has commended Chief John Odigie Oyegun for toeing the path of honour, by withdrawing from the national chairmanship race of the APC.

DAILY POST had on Friday, reported that Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National chairman of APC, had withdrawn from the race for the Party’s national chairmanship.

Ukauwa said that with the withdrawal of Oyegun from the race, the party was repositioning itself to win all elective seats in the country come 2019 general election.

He thanked the outgoing National chairman of APC, for his efforts in piloting the affairs of the party, stressing that his(Oyegun) decision to withdraw from the National chairmanship race would put at bay, issues threatening the peace and stability of the party.

Ukauwa, made the commendation on Saturday in Aba, while reacting to the withdrawal of Chief John Odigie-oyegun from the national chairmanship race of the APC, ahead of the June 23rd national convention of the party.

According to him, “I welcome the decision of Chief John Odigie-oyegun to withdraw from the national chairmanship race ahead of our national convention coming up on June 23rd”.

“His withdrawal from the race is in the interest of the party. Because it would douse the tension in APC. You can recall that several stakeholders of the party had called for Oyegun’s replacement.

“So, I think his decision will save the party from further crisis. There should be change of leadership to enable APC retain the presidency and win more States in the country”.

The APC chieftain, backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s choice of former Edo state Governor, Adams Osholmbole as next national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC ahead of this month’s national convention of the party.

He described the former governor as a courageous and dogged fighter, who would use his wealth of experience in governance to reposition the party.

The governorship hopeful expressed optimisms that with Oshomhole, APC would retain the national government come 2019.

Ukauwa called on all APC faithful and supporters in the country to remain steadfast and work collectively for the success of the party in the forthcoming general election.
