Rising from a meeting, Senators on the platform of All Progressives Congress and Labour party Caucus on Thursday, have declared their support for President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that his unalloyed commitment to anti-corruption fight was what the nation need to succeed.

Part of what they took cognizance of, the Caucus said, we’re huge recoveries of stolen funds that would have ordinarily been channeled into National development for the good of Nigerians, stating that if such a person like Buhari had not emerged, it would have been disastrous for a fragile nation like Nigeria to move forward.

The development followed the withdrawal of support for the administration of Buhari by the opposition PDP Senators which was announced at a press conference on Wednesday.

Dispelling the impression that the anti-corruption only targets the PDP, they said: “Look Buhari did not just go to PDP’s office in Wadata House to start arresting them. There were information and part of APC policy was to fight corruption and those arrested never denied.”

They advised that those that were aggrieved in the course of this battle should approach the court, especially that the Administration was committed to the rule of law.

The group noted that Nigerians voted for change because the country was long overdue for that.

In response to questions as to whether such support was extended to the embattled Senate President, the group affirmed that they do support Buhari and as long as it was the All Progressives Congress as a party controlling any arms of government, they would offer such maximum support to ensure that the person succeeds.

“Governance anywhere in the world demands cooperation and as long it is APC governance at any level, we will give our maximum support,”Senator Olusola Adeyeye, APC Caucus Leader who spoke on behalf of the group maintained.
