APC history not complete without me – Shekarau speaks on defection to party

A former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau on Friday welcomed the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

Oshiomhole alongside the Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje had visited Shekarau at his residence in Kano, ahead of his planned defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to APC.

Addressing APC members and the party followers, Shekarau described himself as the “chief midwife” behind the formation of APC.

He said his union with Oshiomhole will move both the party and country forward.

Shekarau said, “I want to thank the Governor of Kano State, Oshiomhole for this highly political visit. APC National Chairman has been a standing friend, colleague, and family. We have known our selves since the trade union and I’m not surprised when he emerged as the National Chairman.

“All the while I have been beating my chest because anyone who writes the history of APC without the name of Shekarau that history is incomplete.

“I want to assure you that in view of all the recent development, I want to say history is repeating itself.

“All along, I have been beating my chest with pride that anyone who writes the history of the APC without Shekarau, that history is incomplete.
