The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday said it is having difficulty in finding a replacement that can match the outstanding performance of its former spokesperson, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
Disclosing this to newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun said the party had a problem getting a spokesperson to fit into Mohammed’s shoes, but the issue was being resolved, adding that a spokesman would emerge soon.
Oyegun said, “I think arrangements have been completed to hold the necessary congresses to nominate a spokesperson.
“I think that should be done very shortly. In fact the issue is getting somebody that can be as close as possible to the outstanding performance of the present minister of information, Lai Mohammed.’’
It would be recalled that Mohammed, now, Minister of Information and Culture, held sway as the party’s spokesperson during its years as opposition until the party emerged winner in last presidential elections.
Oyegun further assured that all party activities would hold as planned in the month.
“All the scheduled meetings of the party will run as planned, the caucus will meet on the 21st, the BOT on the 22nd and NEC on the 24th.
“Everything will go as planned,’’ he said.
