APC has no structure to unseat PDP in Bayelsa – Dickson boasts

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has declared that the All Progressives Congress cannot unseat the Peoples Democratic Party from power in the state.

The governor expressed optimism that he would get his return ticket without stress.

Dickson, while speaking with newsmen on Friday, asserted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has no structure on ground to threaten the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

He explained that in 2011 when he was running for the governorship election, he did not have the benefit of a support base composing assembly members, local government chairmen and councillors, as compared to now when all these groups are on board.

According to him, “the campaign team we have, when we unveil it, you will see that, it is made up of who is who in politics of their communities, wards and their constituencies. It is an impregnable thing.

“The restoration support base is actually far more robust now than it was in 2012 and we have the advantage that I am running on a record of concrete achievements, not promises as any other person may be.

“The core restoration team is still intact. As a matter of fact, we are even stronger now because at that time, we didn’t have national assembly members supporting me.

“Now, all national assembly members are on board; all 21 Assembly Members are on board. I didn’t have local government chairmen when I was running last time, now they are all on board. I didn’t have councilors supporting, now they are all on board, commissioners and elders of the state are all on board.”
