APC has lost a strong pillar – Dogara mourns Audu

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has described the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, APC candidate in the last Saturday’s Kogi State gubernatorial election as sad and shocking.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, Dogara said the news of Prince Audu’s sudden death came to him as a shock.

He condoled with the Audu family, government and people of Kogi state over the great loss.

The Speaker said that the All Progressives Congress had lost one of its strong pillars who helped to build the party in Kogi state.

“His death is a major setback for the APC family but as people of faith we cannot question the work of the Almighty God who gives life and only Him can take it away”, he said.

Dogara regretted that Audu could not live to celebrate the imminent victory of the APC in the governorship election for which he was the leading candidate.

“Prince Audu was a dogged fighter, grassroot mobiliser, leader and politician par excellence whose influence trancends the frontiers of Kogi state.

“I pray Almighty God to grant his family and all his supporters the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he said.
